Where data comes from

Every listing has a traceable source

  • Public records: state permit lists, county solid waste pages, and municipal drop-off schedules.
  • Direct facility contact: posted rates, gate hours, and accepted materials confirmed with the site.
  • Hauler submissions: new sites and field corrections sent in by working haulers.
  • Each site page lists its sources so you can judge how much to trust a number.
Verification

How a site gets marked verified

  • We check the facility's own posted information against public records before publishing.
  • Pricing is tracked separately from the rest of the listing, because it changes fastest.
  • Anything we could not confirm is labeled Needs verification rather than guessed at.
  • Sites that close or stop taking a material are flagged instead of silently deleted.
Update frequency

What gets re-checked, and when

  • Every facility runs through an automated monthly re-verification pass.
  • Each listing shows how long ago it was verified — green under 45 days, amber after that.
  • Reported problems jump the queue and are reviewed ahead of the monthly cycle.
  • Hours and pricing on high-traffic sites get looked at more often than quiet ones.
Crowdsourced feedback

Haulers keep the map honest

  • Any hauler can report a wrong price, wrong hours, or a closed gate from a site's page.
  • Reports land in an operator queue and are reviewed by a person, not applied automatically.
  • New site submissions are checked for location and permit status before they go live.
  • Reviews and tags from haulers sit alongside verified data so you get both views.
Limits

What we cannot promise

  • Rates and acceptance policies can change the same day without any public notice.
  • Some private sites quote by load or by contract and will not publish a per-ton rate.
  • Always confirm price and hours by phone before a big or unusual haul.
