Before you haul

Load and secure your load right

  • Georgia law requires loads to be covered or secured — tarp every open trailer or dump bed.

  • Tires, batteries, paint, oil, solvents, and other household hazardous waste need a special drop-off.
  • Appliances with refrigerant (fridges, AC units) require certified freon recovery first.
  • Asbestos-containing material must go to a permitted facility with prior notification.
  • Electronics, fluorescent bulbs, and propane tanks are usually banned from landfill disposal.
